Woodcrest Kennel LLC has been a continuous member of the Airedale Terrier Club of America (ATCA) since 1995.

The ATCA is the parent club of the Airedale Terrier breed in the USA. It was founded in 1900 with the objective to promote quality breeding of Airedale Terriers and advance the interests of the breed as a whole. The club promotes the Airedale through competitive events such as conformation, obedience, agility, and field work as well as providing educational oportunities to members.

The ATCA hosts the Airedale Terrier National Specialty at Montgormery County Kennel Club Dog Show the first weekend of October each year. At this show Airedales from around the country and around the world gather together to demonstrate the versatility of the breed in an extensive array of competitive events. The ATCA also hosts floating specialties each year in a different location around the country.

National Airedale Rescue is a non-profit organization that provides services to lost, abandoned, abused, and unwanted Airedale Terriers across the USA. Volunteers for National Airedale Rescue aid in rescue of Airedales in need, fostering, and their rehoming into permanent loving families. Rescue and Adoption is a Committee of the ATCA.

We are also a member of the Airedale Terrier Club of New England (ATCNE) which is a regional club in our area. The club was founded in 1906 and is the oldest regional Airedale club in the country. The ATCNE holds two supported entry shows per year. The summer show coincides with the Ladies Dog Club show held in Wrentham, MA during early June. The winter show is at Bayside Expo Center during early December.

Service Testimonials

Not a Kennel a "Puppy Camp" -

"Jay and his staff have taken loving care of our dogs for 8 years. When he first met Hershey and Sadie he quickly learned their personalities and medical  needs. He patiently baths and grooms our Newfoundland every visit, and gives her a great summer cut every year. His vet assistants took care for her injured foot with stitches and even diagnosed and treated her urinating tract Infection. (which included gathering and taking a urine sample to our vet!!!)  We now have a puppy and had to leave her with Jay when she was very young.  Jay and his staff kept Kalie in a kennel by the office to ensure she had the extra care she needed. When I left Kalei's toy at the kennel Jay's wife returned to my house. When a vacation is coming I frequently receive a call from Jay or his staff to check to see if out dogs are coming to stay.  All of these things are above and beyond any care I have ever received from a kennel.  We never say Kalei and Sadie are gong to the kennel we say they are going to "puppy camp."  After all these years Jay and his staff have become a part of our dogs family and ours." -Sarah Friedman

Puppy Testimonials

"Thank you Jay, Colleen, and Rose for our dear companion Bingley. We’ve had Airedales for fifteen years; he is just the most handsome, smartest Airedale Kathy and I have known. Bingley is blessed with world class confirmation, a hard wiry coat of deep red, and great movement. None of that matters as much as his awesome temperament, excellent health, and mischievous terrier nature. He mixes easily with all creatures big and small fur or fowl.  Your honesty, genuine caring, and welcoming attitude make us feel part of the Woodcrest family." -Kathy, David, & Bingley Rand

Canines vie for Top Dog Title
by Patricia Norris (The Republican)

WEST SPRINGFIELD - The Eastern States Exposition grounds went to the dogs yesterday and for much of the weekend, in the best kind of way, for the Thanksgiving Classic Cluster Dog Shows.

Three buildings at the West Springfield fairgrounds showcased dogs vying for titles like Best in Show and Best in Breed. There were also agility, training and obedience trials.

For Nitro, an Airedale terrier, the weekend was a definite success. A newcomer to the show arena, Nitro came away as the winner in his breed, causing other dog owners to pat his fur for good luck.
